Lithuanian passport and ID card is the main document to prove identity and nationality of a child, which enables to travel to a foreign country. All the necessary information on obtaining a passport and ID card can be found on the website of the Migration Department under the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania: http://www.migracija.lt/ under Personal documents.
If the child is travelling with one parent, the consent letter of another parent is not required; if the child is travelling alone, the consent letter of at least one of the parents is enough. The consent letter shall be authenticated by a notary or the official or elder of the Lithuanian diplomatic agency or consular institution. If the child is travelling to a foreign country with accompanying person, the written consent of at least one of the parents should indicate data of the child and his accompanying person: name; surname; birth date or personal identification number; Lithuanian passport, ID card, passport or other document proving identity (number, Authority and date of issue); date of expiry.
Infant must be accompanied by an adult. One adult can accompany one infant only. If you book an infant ticket, he/she will not have his/her own seat aboard. However, if you need a separate seat for your baby, please book the applicable child’s fare. There are airlines that allow carrying convertible baby stroller or baby bag in the cabin.
